Leg Waxing FAQs
Leg waxing is a hair removal method for the legs. Hair removal is achieved by placing hot or cold wax on your legs, then stripping it off quickly in the opposite direction to your hair growth to extract hairs from the root. Soft wax is normally used in leg waxing, and sees a thin layer of warmed wax applied to your skin using a wooden spatula or roller. A strip of cloth is placed on top of the wax and pulled back, removing your hair in the process.
The results of leg waxing last between 4 and 6 weeks, depending on your hair regrowth cycle. It is important not to wax or shave in between.
There are two types of leg waxing: full leg – which removes hair from the top of your thighs to the base of your ankles – and half leg – which removes hair from below your ankle to just above your knees, or from your thighs to your knees.

Your skin also needs to be as oil free as possible, so take care to shower, exfoliate, and refrain from moisturising your legs before your appointment. Lastly, make sure that the skin on your legs isn’t sunburned or broken, and tell your beauty technician about any moles on your legs that may need protecting from the wax.
You’ll need your legs to be exposed, so you’ll either need to remove or adjust your clothing so that your waxing therapist can access the areas of your legs you want waxed without risk of getting wax on your garments. When you’re ready, warmed soft wax is spread thinly onto your legs, and wax strips placed firmly on top. The strips are quickly pulled off in the opposite direction of your hair growth, taking your hair out from the root in the process. Your waxing should take between 30-45 minutes depending on whether you’re having a half or full leg wax.
